AFI has made a submission to the Inquiry on the new ACT Planning Bill by the Standing Committee on Planning, Transport and City Services. In our Submission we call for action to remove barriers to accessing public spaces and places due to poor planning and compliance as well as needing the planning system to respond to the lack of accessible and affordable housing. Specifically we call for the design principles within the new Bill to include direct references to accessible as well as affordable housing and to refer to the Access Standards well as Universal Design to ensure high standards of accessibility in public domain areas. AFI gave evidence on our submission on 6 December 2022 to the Assembly committee
