Advocacy for Inclusion has developed the world’s first Supported Decision Making App. The App, specifically built for people with disabilities, is designed to assist people to make their own decisions and control their own lives.
The international disability rights treaty, which Australia signed in 2009, requires countries to move away from guardianship towards methods that support people with disabilities to make their own decisions.
“This tool will assist with making this important human rights change, and will empower some of the most disadvantaged people in our community to build skills and be part of their own decisions”, said Christina Ryan general manager at Advocacy for Inclusion.
The App has been funded by a crowdfunding campaign, with a further generous donation by the Snow Foundation.
