ACT Election Disability Rights Analysis
Advocacy for Inclusion has interviewed the disability spokespeople from the major parties in response to our 2016 Election Priorities.
Advocacy for Inclusion will comment on our analysis on Thursday 6 October.
“In a human rights jurisdiction Canberrans with disabilities want to know how their rights will be affected by the ACT Election,” said Christina Ryan, CEO of Advocacy for Inclusion. “We are pleased to see clear commitments on guardianship reform, and access to justice; however, we are extremely disappointed at the lack of commitment to reforming domestic violence laws, and current accommodation policies which see many people forced to live in arrangements they don’t want.”
We sought commitments about: representation, equal access to justice, violence, parenting, guardianship and accommodation.
